Global Insurance & Risk Manager

Overview

In this role you will design and manage the global insurance programme across multiple lines (PI, GL, D&O, Cyber, Property, Employers’ Liability, and specialty lines). You will lead renewals, broker and insurer relationships, and negotiate terms to optimise coverage while ensuring regional consistency with local rules. You’ll oversee claims coordination with the General Counsel and support risk financing, budgeting, and forecasting related to insurance and claims. You will advise on insurance implications in contracts, tenders, and M&A activities, and maintain governance reporting and compliance. Responsibilities

• Design, place, and manage the global insurance programme across multiple lines
• Lead annual renewals including structure, limits, deductibles, layering, and optimisation
• Manage broker and insurer relationships; lead tenders and underwriting submissions
• Negotiate terms, pricing, and coverage enhancements
• Oversee claims notification, management, and settlement with General Counsel; monitor trends and root causes
• Develop risk financing strategies (deductibles, self-insured retentions, captives, AR, where relevant)
• Analyse insurance spend, claims experience, and programme efficiency; support budgeting/forecasting
• Advise on insurance implications in contracts, tenders, client negotiations; align coverage with indemnities and liability provisions
• Support M&A, carve-outs, and restructuring from insurance and risk perspective
• Prepare regular EXCOM reports; maintain policies, schedules, certificates, claims trackers, dashboards; ensure regulatory compliance
