Production Planner - Food Manufacturing

Overview

In this role you will oversee production schedules to ensure efficient workflows and timely finished goods delivery within a bakery. You will coordinate material inputs, monitor performance, and adjust plans to optimise capacity and inventory across locations. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external partners to align demand with supply, driving improvements in planning, lead times, and stock control. This is a hands-on role with a clear impact on on-time delivery and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate material requirements and support procurement to ensure timely inputs
• Track production performance and adjust schedules as needed
• Assess capacity, labor resources and equipment usage to improve efficiency
• Maintain accurate cross-location inventory records
• Align supply, demand, and capacity with internal teams
• Identify risks to delivery timelines and implement corrective actions
• Contribute to planning process improvements and stock control
• Produce reports and performance insights for stakeholders
• Communicate with external partners to align delivery and production plans

Key requirements

• Production Planner, Production Coordinator, Production Scheduler, Manufacturing Planner, Manufacturing Scheduler, Planning Coordinator, Materials Planner, Inventory Planner or similar role
• Experience in a food manufacturing environment
• Experience with data analysis tools
• Advanced Excel skills (macros, pivot tables)
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
