Class 1 Driver

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for reliable and professional HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join their established transport operation in Grays on a temp-to-perm basis.

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your responsibilities will include:

General haulage and deliveries as required
Delivering goods safely, professionally and on time
Maintaining excellent levels of customer service at all times
Ensuring accurate and timely communication with the Transport Team
Completing all required vehicle and delivery checks
Ensuring compliance with relevant transport legislation and company procedures
Representing the company in a professional manner when dealing with customers and members of the public
Working Hours & Salary
£33,792 per annum based on 44 guaranteed hours per week
Up to £46,080 per annum based on an average 60-hour working week
MondayFriday, day shifts
44 hours guaranteed pay per week, based on a full working week
Overtime available
Working hours may vary in accordance with business requirements, and reasonable additional hours may be required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

A full and valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
Valid Driver CPC
Valid Digital Tachograph (Digi) Card
A good understanding of Tachograph and Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations
Previous Class 1 driving experience is required; however, we would consider candidates with no previous Class 1 experience if they are the right candidate for the role
A reliable and punctual approach to work
A flexible attitude towards working hours and operational requirements
Excellent verbal communication skills
Strong customer service skills
A professional approach to driving and representing the company
