Transport Manager

KL Talent Solutions is recruiting for an experiencedDepot Operations Managerto join a well-established transport and logistics business.

This is a hands-on, multi-site operational role with responsibility for the day-to-day performance of a number of transport depots, coveringpeople, fleet, compliance, customer service and commercial performance.

Were looking for someone who is comfortable being visible within the operation not someone who wants to manage depots purely from behind a desk.

The Role

Youll take responsibility for multiple depot locations and their associated drivers, vehicles and operational resources, ensuring each site operates safely, efficiently and compliantly.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing day-to-day operations across multiple depot locations
• Driving high standards of operational performance and customer service
• Ensuring fullO-Licence and transport legislative compliance
• Managing driver hours, tachograph and ADR compliance
• Leading investigations and implementing corrective actions where required
• Recruiting, onboarding, managing and developing drivers
• Conducting performance reviews, investigations and team meetings
• Managing attendance, conduct and employee welfare matters
• Overseeing vehicle maintenance and VOR performance
• Ensuring depot equipment and tanks are maintained to the required standard
• Managing site security, facilities and operational resources
• Controlling transport costs and resource utilisation
• Providing support for driver and vehicle emergencies when required

What Were Looking For

Youll ideally come from atransport, distribution, logistics or depot management background, with experience managing both people and fleet operations.

Youll need a strong understanding of transport compliance and be confident taking ownership of operational issues across multiple locations.

CPC and/or DGSA qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced transport professional who enjoys being close to the operation and wants genuine responsibility across multiple sites.
