Commercial Manager – Rail

Job ID: 3490Salary: 65,000 - 75,000Location: LondonRegion: LondonWe are currently looking for a Commercial Manager for one of our major clients who operate across the UK within the Civil Rail sector. The Project Commercial Manager will be responsible for managing a small team on all commercial aspects on the project, including CVRs, Forecasting, procurement, management of the supply chain, maximising cash-flow and client liaison.The Project Commercial Manager will report to the Project Director and Commercial Director for Rail.Key aspects of your roleHave full understanding of the contract conditions and be responsible for ensuring that all the team members have an understanding of the relevant part of the contract applicable to the work for which they are responsible.Ensure the applications for payment are made to the agreed timescales and are agreed with the client.Set out the Commercial strategy for the project and ensure that the commercial personnel are competent and receive the right training.Ensure that the reporting procedures are complied with for cost and value monitoringWork with the project teams and be involved in all major decisions which would affect the outcome of the projectWork with the project teams to ensure financial controls are in place to monitor the costs and value of work undertakenMaintain and enhance the relationship with the client and work with the team to deliver the project in a cost effective manner for all partiesWhat we are looking forCommercial Management experience on large projects for a first tier contractorExperience of claims production and negotiationExperience using the major forms of contract (NEC, ICE, NR9/12 etc)A good understanding of construction LawExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organisation and time management skills
