DescriptionKenton Black are seeking a permanent Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their client’s expanding team in Dundee.The company, a well-established and highly regarded civil engineering and infrastructure contractor, is looking to appoint a proactive Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects across Scotland. This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a growing business, working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered profitably, efficiently and in line with contractual requirements.Key Responsibilities - Manage the commercial aspects of multiple civil engineering and infrastructure projects from inception through to final account. - Prepare, submit and negotiate interim valuations, applications for payment and final accounts. - Monitor project costs, budgets and forecasts, ensuring accurate financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. - Procure and manage subcontractors, including preparing subcontract documentation, valuations and payments. - Identify, value and agree variations, compensation events and contractual entitlements. - Support project teams with commercial advice, risk management and contract administration. - Maintain accurate cost records and provide regular financial updates to senior management. - Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery. - Assist in managing cash flow, cost control and profitability across projects. - Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company commercial procedures.What You Bring - Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline. - 5+ years experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering, infrastructure or construction sectors. - Good understanding of standard forms of contract including NEC and JCT. - Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage project budgets and maximise project profitability. - Experience in subcontractor procurement, valuation and account management. - Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong communication and negotiation abilities, with confidence liaising at all levels. - Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience using commercial management systems advantageous.- Full UK driving licence.Why This Role? - Competitive salary of 45,000 - 68,000 per annum DOE. - Permanent position with a secure and growing contractor. - Based full-time in the Dundee office, providing close collaboration with senior commercial and operational teams. - Company pension scheme and comprehensive benefits package. - Excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression. - Exposure to a varied and interesting portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects. - Supportive and collaborative working environment with a strong focus on employee development.If you are an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for your next opportunity in Dundee, please get in touch with Josh Halliday at or apply directly through this advert.
