Quantity Surveyor

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading contractor delivering major infrastructure projects in the water sector. This is a permanent role based in Derby, offering flexible hybrid working and a strong pathway for long-term career growth.Reporting directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will either oversee the commercial management of smaller standalone projects or take on key accounts within larger, high-value frameworks.Key Responsibilities:Prepare applications for payment, valuations, and cost-value reconciliationsManage project costs and cash flow through forecasting, monthly reporting, and cost controlLead procurement and management of subcontractor and supplier packagesSupport risk, opportunity, and value management initiativesProvide contract administration support, ideally with experience of NEC forms of contractEnsure all project documentation is accurate and up to dateAct as a key liaison with clients, site teams, and subcontractorsOffer sound commercial and contractual advice to internal stakeholdersProactively identify and escalate any safety or risk concernsRequirements:Essential:Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related disciplineMRICS or working towards APC accreditationPrevious experience with a main contractor on infrastructure or civils projectsDesirable:Background in the water industryStrong working knowledge of NEC contractsWhat’s on Offer:Salary range: 55,000 – 70,000, depending on experienceHybrid working model for better work-life balanceOngoing professional development and career progression opportunitiesA chance to work on industry-leading water and infrastructure projects
