Mechanical Test Manager

I’m currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineering & Test Engineering Manager to join an established OEM/engineering business.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role, managing a small specialist team across mechanical production engineering and test engineering, while working closely with Operations, Design Engineering, Product Management and manufacturing partners.
The role will have significant ownership of:
Leading and developing a small engineering team
Troubleshooting production issues, field failures and customer escalations
Developing and improving production test methods, test rigs and equipment
Leading a major project to modernise legacy test-bed methodology
Improving test cycle times, production efficiency and diagnostic capability
Supporting NPI, design transfer and production readiness
Working with manufacturing partners on root cause analysis and corrective actions
We're looking for someone with:
A strong Mechanical, Manufacturing, Production or Test Engineering background
Experience within an OEM, manufacturing or product-based environment
Previous technical/team leadership experience
Strong hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience with production testing, test equipment or test rigs
Experience working with manufacturing partners or contract manufacturers
A practical, proactive approach with the ability to lead projects independently
