Proven experience delivering end-to-end procurement activity across complex indirect spend, including running competitive tenders and awarding contracts.A leading defence and technology-focused organisation are currently recruiting for a Transformation Lead Buyer - IT on a full-time, permanent basis in Stevenage.Role - Transformation Lead Buyer - IT Type - Permanent Location - Stevenage (minimum 1 day on site per week) Salary - 50,000 - 60,000Key responsibilities for the Transformation Lead Buyer - IT will include and will not be limited to:Lead procurement workstreams supporting a major IT transformation programme, managing multiple activities concurrentlyIdentify and engage the UK supplier market to support programme requirements and delivery timelinesRun competitive sourcing exercises (RFx/tenders) through to award, ensuring a structured and compliant approachNegotiate commercial terms and support contract award activity, working closely with stakeholders to align outcomes to programme needsManage suppliers throughout the lifecycle, tracking performance and supporting issue resolution / risk managementSupport transition activity from legacy systems to new platforms, aligning procurement outputs to implementation milestonesBuild strong relationships with IT and Learning & Development stakeholders, providing clear updates and taking ownership of deliverablesKey skills and experience required for Transformation Lead Buyer - IT job applicant and will not be limited to:Procurement experience across Software.Proven end-to-end procurement lifecycle experience, from market engagement through to award and supplier managementStrong capability running multiple sourcing events simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentConfident supplier negotiation and contract award experience, with evidence of delivering successful commercial outcomesStrong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work autonomously with accountabilityBackground in procurement and/or project delivery - project managers with a procurement background will also be consideredWillingness to travel across UK and European sites monthly for meetings and stakeholder engagement as requiredTo apply for this Transformation Lead Buyer / Lead Buyer / IT Procurement Lead / Procurement Project Manager role candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK, and must successfully meet BPSS and SC clearance requirements.
