YEAR 3 TEACHING ASSISTANT - PRIMARY SCHOOL - SHEFFIELD

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a two-form entry primary school in Sheffield seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 class on a full-time basis.

This is a long-term position starting as soon as possible, with the opportunity to become a permanent role for the right candidate.

About the role

You will be working closely with the class teacher to support learning across the curriculum, with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting whole-class learning and classroom routines
• Delivering small group interventions in reading and maths
• Providing 1:1 support for a pupil who requires additional help to stay on task
• Assisting with behaviour management in line with the school’s policies
• Helping to create a structured and positive learning environment

• Supportive senior leadership and clear behaviour systems in place
• Strong focus on pupil progress and consistent classroom routines
• Easily accessible from across Sheffield

The ideal candidate

• Has previous experience working in a primary school setting
• Is confident supporting KS2 pupils
• Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Is reliable, calm, and able to take initiative in the classroom
• Has a good understanding of safeguarding and behaviour expectations

A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
