We are urgently seeking a resilient, fun, and creative SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly commended, "Ofsted Good" SEN school. If you have experience in care or education or personal experience with SEN and a desire to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, we want to hear from you.

About the SEN School & Your Environment

This long-standing, innovative SEN setting is a beacon of excellence, often used as a positive framework for other SEN schools across the country. Currently supporting over 90 pupils on roll, the school features a part-residential provision and sits on expansive rural grounds.

• Award Winning school (multiple years and accolades)

Because of this unique setting, our team is able to offer extensive outdoor learning opportunities, providing a safe, therapeutic environment for pupils to explore, grow, and develop. Year on year, our students make exceptional progress in both their education and social skills, and you will be a vital part of that success.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Providing tailored support to learners on a 1:1, small group, and wider classroom basis.
• Assisting students with various SEN requirements, focusing heavily on SEMH needs.
• Fostering a love for learning while guiding students toward independence.
• Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress.
• Actively participating in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and whole-school training events.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

• Experience: 6 to 12 months of experience in a care, education, or learning support environment.
• Qualifications: GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) and eligibility to work in the UK.
• Mindset: A flexible, resilient, and positive approach to supporting learners with complex needs.
• Note: Direct SEN experience is highly desirable, though candidates with a strong care background or those with personal SEN experience looking to transition into education are encouraged to apply.

Why Work With Us? (Benefits & Progression)

We boast brilliant staff retention, which is a direct result of how we treat and develop our educators. When you join our team, you will enjoy:

• A Secure Career: A full-time, permanent contract.
• Career Progression: Clear pathways to advance from Senior Teaching Assistant into specialised areas like therapies, skill development, and inclusion support.
• Unrivalled Training: Extensive, fully-funded Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses.
