Specifications Technologist - Urgent

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum

We’re looking for a technically minded Specification Technologist to manage product specifications, supplier approvals, regulatory compliance, and product launches in a hands‑on, hybrid role.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and maintain product specifications
• Ensure compliance with UK, EU, and US food safety, allergen, nutritional, and labelling regulations
• Manage specification-to-launch processes and resolve technical issues
• Act as technical contact for suppliers, customers, and internal teams
• Maintain documentation, raw material approvals, packaging, and Hamilton Grant recipe/spec systems
• Support shelf‑life testing, QA, and audits including BRC

Requirements

• Level 3 Food Hygiene or above
• Knowledge of food science, manufacturing, and packaging
• Attention to detail, strong numeracy and literacy
• Project management, IT, and analytical skills
• Experience with labelling, nutritional/allergen info, and regulatory compliance

Working Pattern

• 2–3 days on‑site, flexible hybrid options
• 4 long days/week or 4 standard days + early finish Friday (12pm)
