Internal Sales Development Representative

We are thrilled to offer a new and exciting opportunity for an Internal Sales Development Representative to join our well-established and successful client located in Hertfordshire. As our client continues to grow, they are investing in their sales function to expand and strengthen existing relationships and identify new business opportunities.

This is a newly created position offering an exciting opportunity to make a direct contribution to the growth of our business. As an Internal Sales Development Representative, you will focus on identifying prospective corporate customers, generating new business opportunities and re-engaging businesses that have previously used our services. Through proactive outbound calling, targeted prospect research and relationship building, you will introduce our services to potential customers and develop a strong pipeline of opportunities for our sales team and local branch managers. This is a great opportunity to grow with the business as the sales function develops.

This is a permanent role offering a hybrid working arrangement of 4 days from home and 1 day in the office. The hours are 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. The role offers a competitive salary of £28,000-£32,000 depending on experience plus commission, performance related bonus and incentives.

Key Responsibilities

• High-Volume Prospecting: Maintain strong daily outbound phone activity to generate new corporate leads and introduce our services to local businesses.
• Lead Generation & Data Sourcing: Identify and map out prospective local businesses within our operational delivery radius.
• Qualification & Discovery: Uncover fleet requirements, short-term rental needs, and vehicle pain points through concise phone discovery.
• Meeting Booking: Secure qualified phone, virtual, or in-person meetings for our Business Development team and Local Branch Managers.
• Account Opening: Guide interested businesses through opening local corporate credit/trade accounts with us.
• Processing Dormant Leads: Contacting clients with dormant or inactive accounts to win back their business/account.
• CRM & Activity Management: Accurately track all daily dials, call notes, pipeline updates, and upcoming follow-ups in our CRM.

Key Requirements and Experience

• Experience: Previous experience in outbound sales, telemarketing, lead generation, or account development (B2B experience in vehicle rental, fleet management, logistics, or local service sales is an advantage, but not essential).
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a confident, persuasive phone manner.
• Proactive Mindset: Self-motivated, resilient, and driven by achieving and exceeding target activity levels.
• Relationship Building: Ability to connect quickly with business managers, fleet directors, and procurement leads.
• Commercial Awareness: Ability to understand customer needs quickly and articulate how corporate vehicle credit accounts add value to their business.
• Local Knowledge: Basic local knowledge of our surrounding areas is required. This is to ensure they connect with local businesses on common ground.
• We use Google Workspace for communications and training given on use of our in-house bespoke CRM.
