Your Role

LKAB Minerals is looking to recruit a suitable candidate to fill the post of Production Operative at our site in Flixborough or Bagmoor Lane Sites.

Working daily with the other operators and their reports under the direction of the Assistant Works Manager to accomplish plant objectives in the areas of Safety, Environmental, Recovery, Quality, Reliability, Production, Efficiency, Cost Reduction and Innovation. Efficient planning and proactive strategy development for optimisation of plant, equipment and reports.

Accountable for the safe and efficient running of the Site at which they are based, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all staff, visitors, members of the public around all areas of operation by LKAB Minerals and LKAB.

Shift Working Pattern

7.30am - 16.00pm

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe handling of materials around site – milling, bagging, transport and loading of finished and raw materials
• Adherence to local and government legislation and LKAB company policy on health and safety
• Ensure all tasks are sufficiently risk assessed and safe systems of work developed and followed with suitable control measures implemented
• Supports adherence to and compliance with, both company standards and those of the 9001, 14001 and 45001 company accreditations
• Responsible for the day-to‑day operation of equipment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of that works.
• Operate the plant to deliver optimum productivity, efficiency, quality and performance to required standards without taking unnecessary risks to achieve this.
• Maintain housekeeping standards and routine inspections are carried out across the area of responsibility supporting and implementing Lean activities such as 5S.
• Responsible for the efficient completion of orders in a safe, timely and efficient manner
• Have responsibility for the recording and management of stock
• Play active role in OEE to improve efficiency within the business unit and the wider company.
• Closely monitors quality of raw materials and finished products and all testing Involvement within the Operational Efficiency programme
• Reports all damage and monitors waste tipped and reports data to Works Supervisor
• Undertake reasonable tasks as allocated by the company in addition to those defined

About you:

• Works with a safety mindset at the forefront of all activities; is not afraid to stop the task if feels it is or has become unsafe; shows courage in challenging unsafe acts of others and escalating as appropriate
• Good concentration and attention to detail to quickly notice deviations in production with solid troubleshooting skills to successfully determine the causes of production issues
• Strong teamwork skills, and works for the great of the site rather than personal gain
• Working knowledge of relevant machinery and equipment, including interpretation of production reports and identification of problems
• Keeps up to date and works within all relevant safety and quality standards and procedures
• Ensure finished products comply with specifications and delivered on time
• Self‑motivated and prepared to work on repetitive tasksEnsure processes and procedures are actively adhered to at all times, and lives by the organisational behaviours and golden rules.
• Fork Lift Truck Licence
• Loading shovel licence
• Driving Licence - due to mobile plant movement required on public roadways
