Salary: £175 - £260 per day (dependent on experience)

Supply Desk is supporting a well-established specialist school in Southampton in its search for a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join the team from October 2026.
This is a full-time position working with students across Key Stages 3 and 4 who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and personalised lessons, supporting students both academically and emotionally while helping them overcome barriers to learning.
The role is initially expected to continue until Christmas 2026, with a strong possibility of extension through to July 2027 for the right candidate.
This opportunity would suit an experienced SEMH Teacher, SEND Teacher, Primary or Secondary Teacher looking to transition into specialist education, or a teacher with a strong passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
This specialist Southampton setting supports students who require an alternative approach to education due to social, emotional and mental health needs. The school is committed to helping young people build confidence, resilience, self-esteem, and positive relationships while achieving their educational goals.
The provision offers small class sizes, high levels of support, and a personalised curriculum tailored to individual needs. Staff work collaboratively to provide a nurturing and structured environment where students feel safe, valued, and motivated to succeed.
The leadership team is highly supportive and places a strong emphasis on staff wellbeing, professional development, and creating positive outcomes for both students and staff.
Supply Desk is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
All successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
