Lead the launch of a premium menswear destination in the heart of the Cotswolds.

About the role

G. J. STONE & Co. is seeking an exceptional Store Manager to lead the launch and day-to-day running of our curated premium menswear boutique, featuring brands such as Sunspel, Drake’s, Woolrich and RRL. This is an opportunity for a commercially minded retail leader with outstanding clientelling capability, strong operational discipline and a genuine passion for styling and long-term client relationships.

You will shape the store culture, deliver an elevated and highly personalised service model, and establish the boutique as a destination for discerning clients across the Cotswolds.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Experience & Clientelling

• Build and maintain a high-value client book, driving repeat visits and long-term relationships.
• Deliver a warm, personalised service model rooted in conversation, product knowledge and genuine connection.
• Curate outfits and complete looks, offering styling advice tailored to each client’s lifestyle, wardrobe gaps and brand preferences.
• Lead by example on the shop floor, demonstrating best-in-class clientelling behaviours.
• Implement outreach strategies, including appointments, follow-ups, private shopping and seasonal previews.

Commercial & P&L Accountability

• Take full responsibility for store P&L, including sales performance, cost control and profitability.
• Analyse weekly and monthly performance, identifying opportunities to grow revenue and improve conversion.
• Manage stock levels, sell-through, replenishment and product presentation to maximise commercial impact.
• Work closely with the Founder to forecast, plan and deliver against financial targets.

Leadership & People

• Recruit, train and develop a small, high-performing team aligned with the brand’s values.
• Set clear expectations for service, presentation, product knowledge and clientelling.
• Create a calm, confident and service-led culture where clients feel known and valued.
• Lead daily floor operations and coach the team through live client interactions.

Operations & Standards

• Ensure the store opens with excellence every day across presentation, cleanliness, stock readiness and service flow.
• Maintain brand standards across visual merchandising, product care, packaging and the store environment.
• Oversee compliance, health and safety, cash handling and operational routines.
• Manage deliveries, stockroom organisation and inventory accuracy.

Brand Representation

• Act as the face of G. J. STONE & Co. within the local community.
• Build relationships with local businesses, hotels and partners to drive footfall and awareness.
• Uphold the boutique’s identity through storytelling, product knowledge and consistently excellent service.

Experience & Profile

We would love to hear from you if you bring:

• A strong background in premium or luxury retail, ideally within menswear.
• A proven track record in clientelling, building client books and driving repeat business.
• Confident styling ability, with an eye for detail and outfit curation.
• Commercial acumen and experience managing a P&L and delivering against targets.
• A calm, mature leadership style and the ability to inspire a small team.
• Excellent organisation, operational discipline and confidence working in a start-up environment.
