Groundworks Site Manager Location: Exeter, Devon Salary: Competitive, depending on experience Job Type: Full-time, Permanent We are currently seeking an experienced Groundworks Site Manager to join a busy and established construction team working on projects across Exeter and the surrounding Devon area. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on Site Manager with a strong background in groundworks, civil engineering and infrastructure projects. The Role As Groundworks Site Manager, you will be responsible for the successful day‑to‑day management of groundworks activities on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and to the required quality standards. Your responsibilities will include:
Managing and supervising groundworks operations on site Coordinating subcontractors, site operatives and plant Planning daily workloads and allocating resources effectively Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and programmes
Monitoring site progress and reporting to the Project Manager Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance Carrying out site inductions, briefings and toolbox talks Liaising with clients, engineers, subcontractors and other site personnel Monitoring quality and ensuring works meet required standards Managing materials, plant and deliveries Identifying and resolving site issues quickly and effectively Maintaining accurate site records and documentation
A strong
commitment to delivering high‑quality work Relevant SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications are desirable.
