Financial Services Manager

Opus People Solutions are recruiting for a Financial Services Manager on behalf of a Local Authority client in Worcestershire.

37 hours per week

Hybrid working (1 day onsite per week)

6-month contract

We’re looking for an experienced Local Government finance professional to lead Financial Services across a shared service arrangement supporting two councils.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading Finance, Payroll, Exchequer and Insurance teams
• Budget setting, financial planning and performance reporting
• Treasury management and capital programme oversight
• Supporting statutory accounts and year-end closedown
• Providing strategic financial advice to senior leaders and elected members
• Driving financial governance, risk management and service improvement

You’ll ideally be CIPFA/CCAB qualified with strong Local Government experience, including budget management, treasury, statutory accounts and finance leadership.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role within a forward-thinking Local Authority and make an immediate impact during a pivotal period.
