The home was registered in the summer and currently supports one child, placed for the past eight months. A full staff team is already in place, and we are now seeking a strong, values‑driven leader to take the service forward following the departure of the current manager.

This is a complex service where children typically receive high packages of support (2:1+), requiring a manager with deep sector expertise, strong regulatory understanding and a proven track record of delivering safe, stable and nurturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.
  • Embed a robust safeguarding culture and ensure all practices meet Ofsted and Children’s Homes Regulations.
  • Provide inspirational leadership, cultivating a positive, child‑centred team culture.
  • Deliver regular supervision, appraisals and training to support staff development and professional growth.
  • Build strong, meaningful relationships with children, staff and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare the home for its First full Ofsted inspection , ensuring readiness across all areas.
  • Drive continuous improvement, turning challenges into opportunities and modelling resilience and professionalism.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Registered Manager in a children’s residential home.
  • Solid inspection history with evidence of achieving “Good” or “Outstanding” outcomes.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • In‑depth understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding legislation and children’s social care frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex services supporting children with LD and/or EBD.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire and develop staff teams.
  • High resilience, emotional intelligence and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Please note: Only candidates who meet the minimum three‑year registration requirement and have a strong inspection history will be considered.

  • Experience supporting children with profound learning disabilities or complex behavioural needs.
  • Background in therapeutic care models or trauma‑informed practice.
  • Experience leading homes with high staffing ratios (2:1+).

Why Join This Service?

  • Opportunity to lead a flagship home at a pivotal stage of development.
  • Supportive senior leadership team committed to high‑quality care.
  • Strong focus on professional development and progression.
  • Meaningful work that directly improves the lives and outcomes of children.
