Department: SEND Tutors (QTS)

Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract

Location: Surrey - Epsom (KT19)

Compensation: £25.00 - £35.00 / hour

Description

We are seeking dedicated SEN Tutors to join our team in Surrey. In this role, you will deliver tailored educational support to students with diverse learning needs, contributing directly to our mission of empowering learners and enhancing their educational experience. These positions offer a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

Tutor roles across Epsom, Leatherhead and Dorking. EYFS to GCSE. £25-£30/hr, 4-15hrs/week, term time only.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Delivering SEN tuition at EYFS, KS1, KS2, KS3 or GCSE level (depending on the role)
• Supporting learners with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and developmental needs in a home-based setting
• Using adapted resources and structured approaches aligned to EHCP outcomes
• Tracking and reporting on pupil progress

Where You'll Work

All sessions are in-person, at the student’s home or an agreed local venue. You’ll need your own transport.

Hours and Pay

Pay: Depending on your experience and the complexity of the placement.

Hours: 5 to 15 hours per week during term time.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with SEND learners - particularly ASD, ADHD or SEMH. This is essential, not desirable.
• A degree level qualification and QTS, or substantial specialist teaching or tutoring experience.
• Based in or near the job with your own transport.
• A current Enhanced DBS check. If you don’t have one, we’ll guide you through the application from day one.
• A safeguarding training certificate from the last two years. Level 2 or above is required due to the nature of the work with complex SEND placements.
• The right to live and work in the UK.

WHY POWERTUTORS IS DIFFERENT

Most tutoring platforms in the UK are marketplaces. You build your own profile, find your own students, and pay a platform fee or lose a cut of every lesson. There’s no one actively working to find you the right students, no one in your corner when things go wrong, and no security in the income.

Powertutors is built differently.

You’ll have a named personal contact - a real person who knows your profile, understands what you’re good at, and works to find you the right students. Not a chatbot, not a help desk. Someone who picks up the phone.

You’ll join a community of specialist SEND tutors who face the same challenges you do. Monthly CPD webinars, a newsletter that covers things that actually matter to your work, and a peer network of educators who get it.

Some of the most rewarding teaching relationships our tutors have ever had started here.

Powertutors is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Powertutors Ltd, Company No. , 29 Linkfield Lane, Redhill, RH1 1SS.
