Interim Commercial Assistant - Indirect Services

Location: London, Greenwich - hybrid (50% office working c2-3 days per week)
Contract: circa 6months
Rate: £200-£300 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Client: Major Public Sector organisation

A major public-sector organisation is looking for an Interim Commercial Specialist to join a high-profile, supporting team delivering procurement activity, including across social impact programmes.

This is a hands-on, commercial role for someone who can assist procurements from end-to-end, produce high-quality governance and procurement documentation, and work confidently with senior stakeholders.

The Role:

• Assist in leading procurement exercises from start to finish, including procurements up to approximately £5m.
• Draft RFPs, pricing schedules, governance papers and approval documentation.
• Review and draft contracts, manage variations and ensure compliance with procurement regulations.
• Work with stakeholders to turn requirements into market-ready specifications.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation.
• Support and assist with projects delivering meaningful social outcomes, including initiatives around rough sleeping, warmer homes, domestic abuse support and retrofit.

Requirements:

You'll need proven commercial/procurement experience, with particular strength in:

• Indirect Services Procurement: end-to-end procurement lifecycle management and regulatory compliance.
• Analysis & organisation: managing competing priorities, solving problems and maintaining accurate records.
• Stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Confidence gathering information independently.
• Familiarity with systems such as SAP Ariba is useful, but training can be provided.
• Good working knowledge of Excel, SharePoint and standard Office tools.
• Hybrid working in London
