Location: Halifax, West Yorkshire
Hours: Full-Time or Part-Time
Full-Time: Monday to Friday, 9.00am–5.00pm
Part-Time: 18 hours per week, flexible within Monday to Friday, 9.00am–5.00pm
Salary: £30,000 basic + bonus | OTE £40,000 (full-time equivalent, pro rata for part-time)

We are an established and growing community publishing business with over 20 years' experience connecting local people with trusted businesses, services and organisations.

We produce a network of successful local community magazines and guides, helping businesses promote their services directly to households within the areas they serve.

Our publications cover everything from local tradespeople, including electricians, plumbers and builders, through to professional services, charities, councils and community organisations.

We currently publish 10 magazines, including the well-known Grapevine magazines across Halifax, as well as titles covering Knaresborough and Wetherby.We are also expanding into specialist publications, including childcare and senior care directories.

Following the continued success and growth of our publications, we have created a dedicated Advertising Sales Centre in Halifax and are now looking for experienced outbound sales professionals to join our team.

The Role

This is a telephone-based advertising sales role working from our modern Advertising Sales Centre in central Halifax.

You'll spend much of your day speaking with local businesses, building rapport, understanding their needs and introducing advertising opportunities across our range of publications.

Previous outbound sales experience is essential.Ideally, you will have at least 2 years' experience in telephone advertising sales, telesales, outbound B2B sales or a similar cold-calling environment, with evidence of achieving sales results or targets.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Making proactive outbound calls to local businesses
• Introducing our publications and advertising opportunities in a friendly and professional way
• Building relationships with new and existing business customers
• Understanding customer needs and recommending suitable advertising options
• Following up with businesses who have received information about our publications
• Working towards agreed sales targets and performance objectives
• Accurately logging calls, conversations and outcomes within our CRM system
• Scheduling and completing follow-up calls
• Developing a pipeline of prospective advertisers and converting opportunities into sales

Our approach is professional, friendly and conversational rather than scripted or overly aggressive.However, this is a proactive outbound sales position, so you must be confident picking up the phone, cold calling businesses and asking for the sale.

We use a CRM system to manage our customer relationships and sales pipeline, giving you clear visibility of:

• Businesses already contacted
• Prospective customers and sales opportunities
• Information requests
• Previous conversations and notes
• Scheduled follow-up calls
• Progress through the sales process

You'll have the tools and information you need to manage your pipeline effectively while working alongside a team focused on growing our publications and advertiser base.

Pay & Rewards

• £30,000 basic salary based on a full-time 37.5-hour week
• Salary pro rata for part-time employees
• OTE approximately £40,000 for the full-time role

Working Hours

We currently have two opportunities available:

Full-Time

Monday to Friday, 9.00am–5.00pm.

Part-Time

18 hours per week, worked within our Monday to Friday, 9.00am–5.00pm opening hours.

We can offer some flexibility around how the 18 part-time hours are worked for the right candidate, and there may also be opportunities to increase hours in the future.

Both positions are office based in Halifax.

Outbound sales requires resilience.There will be times when you make several calls before speaking to the right person, so you'll need to be positive, persistent and comfortable working in a target-driven sales environment.
