Childcare Legal Officer

Childcare Legal Officer – Midlands – 3 months + – predominantly remote working – Up to £25 per hour (Umbrella)

Venn group’s specialist legal team are currently recruiting for a Childcare Legal Officer join a reputable local authority in the Midlands.

This is a Locum position, on an initial 3 months basis. The role will be full time, predominantly remote working, with occasional office attendance. Initial IT collection will also be in person.

Area of law: Childcare

Rate: £20-25 per hour (Umbrella)

Ideal Candidate Requirements

Experience working as a Childcare Paralegal or Legal Officer, preferably in a Local Authority setting.

Duties and responsibilities for this post may include:

• Assisting the Team with time sensitive court matters (e.g. bundling)
• Assisting with invoicing processes and opening files on the case management system
• Arranging meetings and making telephone calls
• Being a point of contact for the client departments
• Monitoring the general inbox and allocating matters or queries to the relevant lawyers
• Liaising with the court and other professional
• Keeping diaries regularly and efficiently
• Keeping up to date with changes in legislation
• Establishing and maintaining good working relationships, both with clients and other members of staff.
