Senior Registered Nurse - Oncology (bank) Clementine Churchill Hospital Bank Shifts Salary: Up to £28 an hour

The Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Senior Registered Nurse to join their team of staff in the Oncology department. This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

• Deliver Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) safely and effectively in line with national guidance, local policies, and competency frameworks.
• Undertake comprehensive patient assessments, including pre-treatment review, toxicity assessment, and ongoing monitoring throughout treatment cycles.
• Provide clinical leadership and day-to-day guidance to junior nurses and support staff within the SACT service.
• Support induction, supervision, and competency assessment of nursing staff delivering SACT.
• Ensure compliance with SACT governance frameworks, including national chemotherapy standards, COSHH, and medicines management requirements.
• Participate in clinical audit, incident reporting, and investigation, contributing to shared learning and service improvement.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.
• Significant post-registration experience in oncology nursing.
• Level 6 or 7 qualification in the administration of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).
• Proven experience delivering SACT independently and safely.
• Strong understanding of oncology pathways, treatment regimens, and supportive care.
• Demonstrable knowledge of clinical governance, patient safety, and medicines management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support patients in emotionally challenging situations.
