Early Years Practitioner - Stoke-on-Trent

£569.60-£646 a week full time (£14.24-£16.15 an hour) | Weekly Pay | You Choose the Days

Nurseries across Stoke ring us most mornings when a room is short. If you're good with little ones and want work that fits around your life, that call could be for you.

Vision For Education places Early Years Practitioners and Nursery Assistants into nurseries and pre-schools from Tunstall to Longton. Tell us the days you're free and we'll match you to settings close to home.

A Typical Day

  • Joining an established room team, from babies through to pre-school
  • Leading play, stories and activities that build language and confidence
  • Helping with snack, lunch, sleep and personal care
  • Keeping the room safe, calm and welcoming
  • Heading home when the shift ends, with no learning journeys or paperwork to take with you

Why People Work With Us

  • £569.60-£646 a week for a full-time week of 40 hours (£14.24-£16.15 an hour, depending on qualifications, experience and the role)
  • Weekly pay through PAYE
  • The days you choose , from one day a week to a full week, paid for the hours you work
  • Ad-hoc days, a regular weekly slot, or longer bookings
  • Settings across ST1-ST6: Tunstall, Burslem, Hanley, Fenton, Longton, Meir, Blurton and nearby
  • Free training and professional development
  • One consultant who knows the nurseries and tells you what to expect before you say yes

What Helps

  • Experience in a nursery, pre-school or Early Years room
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification
  • Paediatric First Aid (important for Level 3 bookings)
  • Warmth, reliability and patience
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or happy to apply for one

Same Nursery or Something Different?

Some practitioners like a new room each week. Others become a regular face in one setting. Either works, and before every booking you'll know the address, the hours and what the room needs.

Vision For Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and full pre-engagement vetting. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
