You will be part of the Adult Speech and Language therapy team and the wider Adult Community Therapies service. The community adult SLT service is lead by a B8a clinical lead and there are strong professional links between SLT services within RFH, including access to outpatient videofluoroscopy and FEES clinics.
You will be co-located with Adult Community therapies (which includes Community rehab , Community Neurological rehab, Nutrition and Dietetics, Community Stroke rehabilitation, MND co-ordinator and Parkinson's nurse specialist). This allows the services to deliver high quality, responsive, multidisciplinary and holistic care within the borough.
We are looking for an enthusiastic clinician, keen to work with us in shaping and developing our services to meet the challenges of delivering appropriate care in the right place and at the right time. We need you to be passionate about making a difference to patients and their families. As part of the adult SLT service providing care to a multi-cultural and diverse population, to deliver a high standard of speech and language therapy care to patients and their carers in the community.
To perform comprehensive speech and language assessment (communication and / or swallowing) of adults with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions. To use this assessment to provide a clinical diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
Are you a confident Band 5 ready to progress, or an established Band 6 seeking a new challenge? Join our supportive and forward-thinking community Speech and Language Therapy team, where you'll have the opportunity to develop specialist skills, work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues, and play a key role in delivering outstanding patient care. This full-time or part-time role offers both professional fulfilment and flexibility to support a positive work-life balance.
As part of our commitment to staff development, we are also exploring opportunities for rotational working across a range of settings, including community, inpatient rehabilitation and stroke services. This could provide the successful candidate with exciting opportunities to broaden their clinical experience and develop a varied skill set within an integrated SLT service.
