Quality Inspector
Birmingham
Are you passionate about delivering excellent repairs services and ensuring tenants receive the quality they deserve?
Are you passionate about delivering excellent repairs services and ensuring tenants receive the quality they deserve? Our growing In-House Maintenance Team is seeking a Quality Inspector to play a key role in enhancing repair quality, tenant satisfaction, and service performance. Through inspections, quality assurance activities, and investigations, you will help ensure repairs are completed right first time, lessons are learned from service failures, and our tenants receive the high standard of service they expect and deserve.
This is more than simply identifying when something isn't right. You'll work with our operatives, contractors and repairs teams to understand tenant dissatisfaction, quality issues, identify where improvements are needed and help prevent repeat repairs and service failures.
With a varied mix of on-site inspections and office-based tasks and analysis, it’s a great opportunity to use technical knowledge while playing a direct role in improving the quality of our repairs service and the experience our tenants receive.
As a Quality Inspector, you will provide independent assurance on the quality and effectiveness of the repairs service through the assessment and investigation of completed repairs and customer interactions. You will monitor compliance with service standards, identify trends and root causes, share learning opportunities, and support continuous service improvement. The role plays a key part in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused repairs service that drives performance, compliance, and tenant satisfaction.
You’ll have a strong understanding of repairs, maintenance or construction and be confident assessing completed works against expected quality and compliance standards.
You’ll need a good eye for detail, but you’ll also need to be comfortable dealing with people. You’ll regularly work with operatives, contractors, colleagues and tenants, so being able to explain issues clearly and work constructively with others to put things right will be important.
Your CV will clearly demonstrate:
This isn't a role where you'll spend every day behind a desk.
You’ll split your time between visiting our properties to inspect completed works and office-based activity, reviewing findings, maintaining records, investigating trends and working with colleagues to improve performance.
As you’ll be travelling to our properties, a full UK driving licence is essential. A company van and fuel card are provided for business use.
We’re one team working together for our tenants. We’re a large, ambitious housing organisation providing people with an affordable place to call home.
Our Repairs & Maintenance teams play an important role in making sure our homes remain safe, well maintained and somewhere our tenants are proud to call home. As a Quality Inspector, you’ll have a direct influence on the standard of the service we provide – helping us learn when things haven’t gone right and continually improve the quality of our repairs.
We welcome people from all walks of life and want Midland Heart to be a place where you can develop your skills, build your career and make an impact.
We may close the vacancy early depending on the volume of applications received, so we’d encourage you to apply as soon as possible.
We’re proud to be a Disability Confident Employer. Please feel free to contact us if you’d like to discuss any adjustments you may need to support you through our recruitment process.
