Application Deadline: 26 October 2026
Department: Constable's Office
Location: Town Hall
Compensation: £43,585.15 / year
The Parish of St Helier is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and people-focused Community Builder to play a key role in strengthening connections across our diverse and vibrant community.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about community engagement and enjoys bringing people together. Working both from the Town Hall and within neighbourhoods across St Helier, you will build relationships with residents, residents' associations, volunteers, charities, schools, faith groups, businesses and community organisations, helping to create stronger, more connected communities. You will work alongside dedicated colleagues and community partners who are passionate about creating a welcoming, inclusive and resilient Parish.
As the Parish's principal link with residents' associations, volunteers, charities and twinning committees, you will be a visible and trusted presence within the community. You will help residents access support and services, encourage participation in local activities and decision‑making, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop initiatives that improve wellbeing, inclusion and community resilience.
From the date that they start employment, anyone employed on a permanent basis with the Parish of St Helier will join the career average pension scheme, also called the Public Employees Pension Scheme ('PEPS').
The PEPS is a funded scheme where the employee's and employer's contributions are invested to help provide benefits in future years. For all new employees, 6.77% is deducted from your wage, and 13.8% is paid by the Parish.
We provide access to an extensive Skills for Care accredited eLearning package covering all 15 standards of the Care Certificate as well as opportunities to study for role-specific qualifications.
25 days of holiday per year (*plus bank holidays and pro‑rated for part‑time hours) increasing with length of service.
