Business Development Manager / Estimator

The Opportunity

Are you commercially driven, confident in developing new business and skilled in producing accurate estimates? Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager / Estimator to identify opportunities, build lasting customer relationships and support projects from initial enquiry through to quotation and delivery. This field-based role offers autonomy, variety and the chance to influence the growth of a successful business.

The Role

This varied position combines new business development, account management, client relationship building and estimating. You will develop opportunities across the UK, understand customer requirements and produce accurate quotations, proposals and tender submissions. The role could suit an experienced Business Development Manager with estimating knowledge or an Estimator seeking a more customer-facing commercial position.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate and develop new business opportunities across target sectors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
• Conduct client meetings, site visits and surveys.
• Prepare estimates, quotations, proposals and tender submissions.
• Interpret customer requirements and recommend suitable solutions.
• Work closely with internal design, operational and project teams.
• Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements.
• Monitor project progress and maintain clear client communication.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and repeat business.
• Represent our client professionally within the marketplace.

About You

• Experience in business development, sales, estimating or a similar commercial role.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Ability to prepare quotations and cost estimates.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A self-motivated and proactive approach to winning business.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Desirable: Experience within construction, fit-out, storage solutions, mezzanines, industrial environments or related sectors.
• Desirable: Knowledge of tendering processes.
• Desirable: Experience carrying out site surveys and measurements.
• Desirable: Understanding of project delivery and contract management.
