Management Accountant - Stonehouse, Gloucestershire

12-month temporary contract | £20.00-£25.00 per hour

35 hours per week | Flexible hours over five days

2020 Recruitment are working with a global client who are looking to add a Management Accountant to their UK finance team in Stonehouse on a 12-month temporary contract.

Joining a team of four, you will take on a varied position covering general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and management reporting.

This opportunity would suit an AAT-qualified finance professional working towards a further accountancy qualification, or someone with equivalent qualifications and relevant experience.

The Role

As the Management Accountant, you will support the accurate and timely processing of accounting activities, helping prepare financial information and reports for the management team.

Your practical accounting experience, strong Excel skills and understanding of ERP systems will be important in ensuring work is completed accurately and within reporting deadlines.

You will work closely with your immediate team, the shared service centre and overseas colleagues to maintain financial controls and resolve accounting queries.

Duties & Responsibilities

Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and ageing analysis.
Compiling and reviewing lease schedules.
Preparing and reviewing SOX control documentation.
Assisting with government reporting requirements.
Liaising with the shared service centre and overseas colleagues to ensure compliance with procedures and controls.
Supporting month-end processes and the preparation of management reports, including providing absence cover.
Collating supporting documentation for external auditors.
Preparing accruals and maintaining accounting records, files and statements.
Completing year-end accounting analysis and tax summaries.
Supporting senior finance colleagues with other accounting tasks.
Following company financial, legal and health and safety procedures.

Requirements

An AAT qualification and be working towards ICAS, ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent qualifications.
Previous experience working within a finance position.
A practical understanding of accounting processes and financial reporting.
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, alongside confidence using Word and Outlook.
Knowledge of ERP systems.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
Good attention to detail and a methodical approach.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a small team.
A willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
The right to work in the UK and live within a commutable distance of Stonehouse.
