Our Treatment Suite plays a vital role in delivering high-quality surgical and procedural care, supporting patients through every stage of their treatment journey. Working across a range of specialties, the department provides a safe, efficient, and patient-focused environment where clinical excellence, innovation, and compassionate care are at the heart of everything we do.
The service brings together consultants, anaesthetists, nurses, operating department practitioners, and wider multidisciplinary teams to ensure procedures are delivered safely and effectively. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, clinical governance, and service excellence, while providing a calm and reassuring experience for every patient.
As an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) / Anaesthetic Nurse within the Treatment Suite, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred perioperative care. You will work closely with anaesthetists, consultants, and multidisciplinary colleagues to support patients before, during, and immediately after procedures, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained at all times.
You will be responsible for preparing and maintaining anaesthetic equipment, monitoring patients throughout the perioperative pathway, and providing specialist support during procedures. You will ensure that all equipment, medications, and clinical areas are safe, ready for use, and compliant with relevant standards and protocols.
The role requires excellent clinical knowledge, strong organisational skills, and the ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment. You will support the smooth running of treatment lists, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and help deliver an outstanding patient experience through compassionate, professional care.
This role is ideal for an experienced ODP or Anaesthetic Nurse who is passionate about perioperative practice, committed to patient safety, and motivated to work within a collaborative and high-performing clinical team.
You are a qualified Operating Department Practitioner or Registered Nurse with experience in anaesthetic practice and a strong commitment to delivering safe, effective, and compassionate patient care. You take pride in maintaining the highest clinical standards and are confident supporting patients throughout their perioperative journey.
You communicate clearly and professionally with patients, colleagues, and consultants, helping to create a reassuring environment while ensuring excellent multidisciplinary collaboration. You are highly organised, able to prioritise effectively, and remain calm when working in a busy procedural setting.
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team, you demonstrate sound clinical judgement, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous professional development. Most importantly, you are passionate about delivering an exceptional patient experience and contributing positively to service quality and clinical excellence.
