Buyer

We are hiring a Buyer to manage the sourcing and purchasing of pre-lims and other consumable, temporary site items such as lighting, fencing, and PPE. This is not a traditional buying role focused on long-term capital categories; instead, it requires someone who can work across varied spend areas, maintain strong control over detailed information, and support site needs with consistency and accuracy. The role suits someone who is comfortable working within established processes, handling a broad range of purchasing data, and coordinating effectively across multiple category lines.

Core Responsibilities

• Source and purchase pre-lims and temporary site consumables, including items such as lighting, fencing, PPE, and other short-term operational supplies
• Manage purchasing activity across multiple categories, ensuring orders are accurate, timely, and aligned with site requirements
• Maintain detailed records of suppliers, pricing, specifications, and purchasing history
• Review requests carefully, compare options, and support purchasing decisions with clear documentation
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to confirm requirements, delivery timing, and item availability
• Monitor purchasing data and category information across a broad range of items, keeping information current and well organized
• Follow established procurement procedures, approval processes, and documentation standards
• Support continuity of supply for temporary site needs while balancing quality, cost, and operational requirements

Required Skills & Abilities

• Experience in buying, procurement, or purchasing across multiple categories or in a complex operational environment
• Ability to work comfortably with detailed information, specifications, pricing data, and supplier records
• Strong judgment when reviewing purchasing options and applying established standards
• Clear communication skills for working with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Comfortable managing a varied workload while maintaining accuracy and follow-throughAble to learn new categories, products, and purchasing requirements quickly in a structured environment
• Experience from sectors such as pharma, production, manufacturing, or other environments with complexity across category lines would be valuable

Other Requirements

• Previous experience in a buyer or procurement role
• Experience purchasing consumables, temporary operational items, or site-based supplies is helpful
• Familiarity with procurement systems, purchasing records, and standard approval workflows
