About Elliotts

Elliotts is an independent builders’ merchant serving customers across the South of England. Founded in 1842, we remain family owned and focused on doing things properly.

We keep things straightforward - know our customers, work safely, deliver reliably, and support each other as a team. Decisions are made locally, close to the work.

The business is led by Tom, the great-great-great grandson of the founder. That long-term, hands‑on approach shapes how we operate and how we look after our people.

Many of our team build long careers here. It’s a stable, supportive environment where people take pride in their work and back each other day to day.

The Role

As part of our internal sales team, you’ll be proactively working to grow sales within the branch. This will be done by growing our current sales ledger, as well as actively pursuing new business.

We’re looking for someone who’s great with people and really takes pride in what they do yet isn’t afraid of some good old fashioned hard work.

You’ll be organising quotes, materials and making sure we can supply the order on time, in full.

We’ll need you to:

• Have a background in a sales environment

• Have great customer service skills, both on the phone and face to face

• Be confident. You’ll need to recommend products, source alternatives at times and be proactive

• Be a great team player – able to muck in and support in other areas where needed. And up for some friendly banter with customers and your team!

Ideally, you will already have previous experience with our products. However, training can be put in place in order to support the right candidate.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a friendly person who is skilled at first impressions to join not only a great team but a great family run business, who strive to go the extra mile for its customers.

Who are you?

At Elliotts the customer comes first, and we take ownership. We believe everyone who works here should demonstrate our core behaviours:

• Friendly
• Enthusiastic
• Professional
• Interested
• Attentive
• Helpful

What’s in it for me?

• Annual profit share scheme
• 24/7 wellbeing support
• Enhanced Maternity and Paternity pay
• 22 days holiday
• Unlimited training
• Staff discounts
• Christmas Hamper
• Monthly Pizza on us
• Company pension
