We're looking for a part time (15 hours) Transport Planning Officer to play a key role in shaping the future of East Riding. You'll provide expert highway and transport advice on planning applications, assess the impacts of new developments, negotiate improvements with developers, and help secure the infrastructure needed to support sustainable growth.

What you'll be doing

Assessing planning applications and development proposals.
Providing professional transport and highway advice to planners, developers and elected members
Influencing the design of new developments and infrastructure schemes
Supporting the delivery of highway improvements through S278, S38 and related agreements
Representing the Council at meetings, committees, appeals and public inquiries
Helping create places that are safer, healthier and better connected for future generations

What we're looking for

We're seeking someone with experience in Highway Development Management, Transport Planning or highway/planning related experience , who can manage a varied workload, provide clear and confident technical advice, and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. Professional membership (or eligibility) of a relevant institution and a commitment to continuous professional development are essential.
