The Opportunity

WLD Recruitment is working with an established precision engineering company in Cirencester that is looking to appoint an experienced Part-Time Health & Safety Adviser to support its manufacturing operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional seeking a part-time position with a better work-life balance.

Our client is looking for a practical, hands-on individual who can maintain existing health and safety standards, manage compliance documentation and support day-to-day H&S activities.

This is not a business transformation position. The focus is on maintaining effective systems, supporting employees and management, and ensuring ongoing compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and updating health and safety policies, procedures and documentation.
  • Preparing and reviewing workplace risk assessments.
  • Supporting internal and external ISO audits.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Coordinating employee training, toolbox talks and safety briefings.

  • Providing practical H&S advice to management and employees.
  • Conducting workplace inspections and identifying potential hazards.
  • Supporting incident investigations and corrective actions.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety Adviser, Officer or Manager position.
  • Good understanding of H&S legislation, risk assessments and compliance.
  • Experience maintaining safety documentation and supporting audits.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A practical, hands-on approach and ability to work independently.
  • Previous engineering or manufacturing experience would be advantageous.
  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications would be beneficial.

Working Hours & Salary

Approximately 20 hours per week.

Salary of up to £40,000 per annum, full-time equivalent and pro rata to hours worked.

Based on a standard 40-hour full-time week, this would equate to approximately £20,000 per annum for 20 hours.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Part-time position offering a better work-life balance.
  • Competitive salary reflecting experience and qualifications.
  • Opportunity to work within an established precision engineering business.
  • Varied responsibilities covering H&S compliance, audits and training.
  • Practical role focused on maintaining existing systems rather than leading major transformation projects.
