Wolviston Management Services are recruiting for an IT Support & Operations Technician to join Tioxide s IT team, supporting users, systems and technology across its Greatham, Stockton and Wynyard locations.

This is a varied, hands-on IT support role, suited to someone with strong customer-facing IT experience who enjoys solving problems, supporting users directly and developing broader technical capability across IT operations.

The Role

As IT Support & Operations Technician, you will provide deskside and remote IT support across Tioxide locations, taking ownership of service requests and incidents through to resolution.

You will support users, devices, infrastructure and IT services, while working closely with IT colleagues and third-party providers to maintain effective service delivery.

The role will also support IT operations activity, including system monitoring, Microsoft 365 administration, identity and access management, networking, telephony, patching, technical applications and project/change activity.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on deskside and remote IT support to users across Tioxide locations.
• Take ownership of incidents and service requests through to resolution.
• Support users, devices, infrastructure and IT services.
• Assist IT colleagues and third-party service providers with technical support across site locations.
• Support monitoring, administration and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure.
• Develop capability across Microsoft 365, identity and access management, networking, telephony, patching and technical applications.
• Support IT projects, upgrades, technology deployments and site changes.
• Assist with installation, configuration, testing and implementation activity.
• Maintain accurate service, asset and technical records.
• Work in line with agreed IT processes, controls and service management standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve IT service delivery.
• Provide some planned out-of-hours support for patching and system upgrades.

About You

You will have previous experience in a customer-facing IT support role and be comfortable providing practical, hands-on support to users in a busy operational environment.

You should be proactive, service-focused and keen to continue developing your technical knowledge within an IT operations function.

Essential Experience

• 3+ years experience in customer-facing IT support or a similar IT service role.
• Experience providing deskside and remote user support.
• Ability to take ownership of service requests and incidents.
• Basic understanding of one or more of the following:
• Infrastructure.
• Application management.
• ITIL.
• Microsoft 365 administration.
• Relevant experience working to an ITIL framework.
• Systems or application management experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate technical records.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with users, IT teams and third-party providers.
• Working towards an IT certification, or a strong commitment to self-development and continuous improvement.

Desirable Experience

• Microsoft 365 administration.
• Identity and access management.
• Networking or telephony exposure.
• Patching and planned upgrade support.
• Asset management and technical documentation.
• Experience supporting IT projects, deployments or site changes.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial or multi-site environment.
