The Royal Hospital for Children & Young People (RHCYP) is a tertiary paediatric hospital providing specialist services to Lothian and across Scotland. The Department of Dietetics provides services across the care continuum supporting local, regional as well as national paediatric services.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 dietitian to join our team. This post will primarily support our PGHAN service at RHCYP. In addition to specialty areas as required. It will include support to both acute and clinic commitments at RHCYP. There is also a requirement to support outpatient and community-based care across Lothian.
In addition to a specialist clinical caseload, the post holder will be expected to support core tasks across the paediatric dietetic team. This includes the management of junior members of staff, supporting a general paediatric outpatient caseload, cross-cover for other paediatric specialities as required, and participation in student training (A, B & C placements).
We are strongly committed to training and support, with CPD, peer support and training opportunities to further develop your specialist clinical skills. Where possible we support a flexible working environment.

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service. Further information on what NHS Scotland Boards are required to do to check this as well as what your responsibilities include can be found in the further information for this vacancy.
We will fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.

If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
