About the Role

Working in our Children's Homes means being a part of a young person's day to day life. This involves being there for the highest highs and lowest lows. Our night support workers are essential in enabling our young people to regain their childhood and create pathways to become well-rounded adults—an incredibly rewarding role. While there are challenges, there are also small victories that feel like huge achievements.

Our homes accommodate young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs, with the aim of creating the best possible outcomes for them. Our night support workers are fulfilled by the impact of even small positive changes, and we celebrate these moments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking care of the home and young people through the night.
  • Supporting young people who wake up dealing with trauma, feeling ill, upset, or unable to sleep, providing understanding and support in those moments.
  • Building rapport and trust with young people in their times of need.
  • Performing tasks around the home during quieter times, such as paperwork, cleaning, and laundry.
  • Tapping into each young person's needs, personality, and potential, guiding them toward a positive future.

What We Do For You

We recognize your hard work and dedication, offering a competitive salary and benefits package, including:

  • Salary: Base salary of £30,421 - £33,568
  • Bonuses: £1,400 Attendance Allowance (assuming good attendance), £2,000 regional allowance, £1,000 welcome bonus (after 6 months), and £1,000 loyalty bonus (after 12 months).
  • Training: A full 4-week induction on our Care Academy.
  • Holiday: 7 weeks' holiday annually.
  • Progression: Opportunities for promotion from within and participation in our 'Aspire' future managers programme.
  • Flexible Benefits: Adjust your holiday allowance, pension, and life insurance; access healthcare discounts and high-street offers.

Inclusive and Supportive Environment

We celebrate everyone's differences. Our young people come from diverse backgrounds with unique needs, and our workforce reflects that diversity. No experience is necessary, but the following qualities are valued:

  • A 'can do' attitude and teamwork spirit.
  • Genuine care, honesty, and empathy.
  • Resilience to handle challenging situations.
  • A full UK driving license held for at least 12 months.
  • If you lack a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), we will support your study efforts.

Start as a NSO by joining our 'Care Academy'—a 4-week off-the-job training program with experienced professionals.
