Electrical Compliance Business Development Manager

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Compliance Business Development Manager to join our client’s Dudley office.

This is a core position within the business, with a genuine opportunity to make your mark, develop the Midlands market and, in time, potentially build and manage your own sales team.

The business already has a strong nationwide presence, with around 75% of its current customer base in London, and is now looking to significantly grow its presence across the Midlands and surrounding areas.

The Role

This is a varied, customer-focused BDM position combining business development, relationship management, appointments and sales.

You will be working from an established database and warm leads, developing existing opportunities while identifying new business across the Midlands.

Responsibilities

• Working from an established database of customers and prospects
• Following up warm leads and developing new opportunities
• Making outbound calls and building strong customer relationships
• Arranging and attending customer appointments
• Visiting businesses across the Midlands and further afield
• Understanding customer requirements and providing the right compliance solution
• Preparing and presenting quotations
• Selling PAT Testing and Fixed Wire Testing services
• Developing existing accounts and maximising sales opportunities
• Identifying new sectors, customers and opportunities within the Midlands
• Working closely with the wider team to deliver a first-class customer experience
• Helping shape and grow the Midlands operation as the business expands

About You

We are looking for someone who combines electrical industry knowledge with proven B2B sales experience.

Requirements

• Previous experience within the electrical, electrical compliance, testing or facilities services sector
• A proven track record in a sales/BDM role
• Experience selling technical services or solutions
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Confidence making appointments and attending customer meetings
• The ability to understand customer needs and confidently quote and sell solutions
• A proactive, commercially minded approach
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills
• The confidence to work independently while being part of a growing team
• A genuine desire to build a long-term career with a business where there is room to progress

Salary and Benefits

Salary: £45,000–£50,000

Car Allowance: £450 per month

Mileage: Paid

Working: Hybrid – typically 2/3 days in the Dudley office, with the remainder working remotely/on the road
