PIP Functional Assessor | Fareham | Salary: £45,000 increasing to £47,000 after 12 months | Hybrid | Monday–Friday

Registered Nurses | Occupational Therapists | Physiotherapists | Paramedics | Pharmacists

Still want to use your clinical knowledge, but ready for a change from shifts, nights and hands‑on care?

Your clinical career doesn't have to mean staying on the frontline.

As a PIP Functional Assessor, you'll use your clinical experience, assessment skills and professional judgement to understand how a person's health conditions affect their daily life and mobility.

You'll be using the skills you've built throughout your clinical career — just in a completely different way.

Why make the move?

  • Monday–Friday working
  • No nights, weekends or bank holidays
  • Hybrid working
  • Structured working hours
  • Better work-life balance
  • No hands‑on care
  • Full training provided
  • No previous Functional Assessor experience required
  • Full-time and part-time opportunities available following training
  • Long‑term career progression

What will you actually be doing?

You’ll speak with individuals about their health conditions, medical history and how their conditions affect their everyday lives. You’ll use structured questioning, review relevant evidence and apply your clinical reasoning and professional judgement to assess their functional ability. You’ll then produce clear, accurate and evidence‑based reports.

The role is not an easy option — you’ll deal with complex cases, multiple conditions and significant report‑writing responsibilities. You’ll also need to manage your workload and work to quality and performance expectations.

The difference is that you’re moving away from the physical demands and unpredictable hours of frontline healthcare while continuing to use your clinical expertise.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for fully registered clinicians with relevant post‑registration experience:

  • Registered Nurses
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Physiotherapists
  • Paramedics
  • Pharmacists

You must hold an active professional registration and have relevant clinical experience.

No other professions will be considered for this role.

Ready for a different kind of clinical career?

If you’re ready to leave the frontline without leaving your clinical skills behind, this could be the next step in your career.
