Security Reception & Access Control Administrator

Salary: £14.03 per hour

Working pattern: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am to 4:00pm; Friday, 6:00am to 3:00pm (49 hours per week)

About the role

We are looking for an organised, customer-focused Reception & Access Control Administrator to join our team. This is a front-of-house role, giving Employees, Visitors and Customers a welcoming and professional experience. You will represent both JLR and GMS, so every interaction needs to reflect the standards of both companies.

You will work closely with site-based stakeholders and the wider Reception & Access Control Team to keep the site secure, manage access and provide excellent customer service.

What you'll be doing

Delivering a professional, welcoming reception service that reflects the JLR Creator Codes and the principles of Modern Luxury
Working as part of the Reception & Access Control Team, alongside site stakeholders, Employees, Visitors and Customers
Registering Visitors on the JLR Visitor Booking System and making sure they are met, managed and escorted by their Host until departure
Helping Employees, Visitors and Customers understand and follow site rules, safety requirements and expected behaviors
Building your knowledge of JLR's Manufacturing and Non-Manufacturing sites so you can assist with information about JLR's UK operations
Answering and managing internal and external calls through the site switchboard
Issuing and managing Visitor identification badges
Carrying out identification and security checks
Processing vehicle passes and keeping accurate databases and records
Supporting the monthly onboarding process, including Fire Marshal responsibilities
Acting as the main point of contact for Reception visitors in an emergency and supporting evacuation procedures where required
Keeping the Reception area safe, clean and professional in line with procedures, rules and regulations
Managing the end-to-end ID card process, including programming, allocating access, reviewing permissions and deactivation, in line with the JLR Access Control Policy
Protecting JLR's people, assets and intellectual property through effective access management
Completing Employee onboarding and offboarding activities
Running and reviewing Access Control reports, and escalating issues where appropriate
Documenting working practices in line with the JLR and GMS way
Responding positively to changing business requirements and priorities
Contributing to continuous improvement across the team

What you'll bring

Previous experience in customer service, hospitality or a similar customer-facing environment
Experience of handling challenging situations, with knowledge of conflict resolution
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to contribute within a High-Performance Team (HPT)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organisational and administrative skills
Good IT skills, including Microsoft applications, electronic records and filing systems
Previous experience using switchboard or telephony systems
A professional, approachable and customer-focused attitude
The ability to stay calm and adaptable under pressure
A valid UK driving licence and access to personal transport
Previous experience in access control, security administration or access management
Experience in a large corporate, manufacturing or operational environment
Knowledge of visitor management, ID card administration or security access systems

You will communicate with confidence and take pride in good customer service. You will be comfortable balancing customer needs with security, safety and compliance, and you will work well with others with a close eye for detail.
