Conveyancing Assistant - Chelmsford, Essex

We are looking for an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join our busy and friendly Commercial Property team.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Hours: Full-time

Experience: 4+ years’ conveyancing experience

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least four years’ experience in residential conveyancing who is confident managing a varied caseload and providing high-quality support to solicitors and clients.

You will play an important role within the team, assisting with matters from instruction through to completion and ensuring that clients receive a professional, efficient and friendly service throughout.

Key responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting with a varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters.
• Supporting solicitors with sales, purchases, remortgages and auctions.
• Dealing with clients, estate agents, lenders and other third parties.
• Preparing and reviewing correspondence and legal documentation.
• Obtaining and reviewing searches and property information.
• Assisting with exchange and completion processes.
• Managing post-completion requirements.
• Keeping case management systems and files accurately updated.
• Monitoring key dates and deadlines.
• Providing excellent client service and keeping clients informed throughout their matter.
• Working collaboratively with the wider Property team to ensure matters progress efficiently.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

• Has at least four years’ experience working within residential conveyancing.
• Has a good understanding of the conveyancing process from instruction through to completion.
• Is confident dealing directly with clients and other professionals.
• Is highly organised and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Has excellent attention to detail.
• Communicates clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Is proactive and able to work independently while also being a strong team player.
• Takes pride in delivering a high level of client service.
• Has experience using a legal case management system; experience with LEAP would be advantageous.
