Support Worker

At New Chapters, we are a family-run service that offers vulnerable adults the opportunity to live independently in a supported environment.

We are seeking a caring and dedicated full-time support worker to work with a service user who has autism and displays challenging behaviour. They are newly transitioning from young persons' to adult services and are settling into a comfortable, lovely new home. You will be working on a 2:1 ratio and the pay is £13.25 per hour.

Previous experience supporting adults with autism, learning disabilities, epilepsy and behaviours that may challenge in a supported living setting is essential. In return, we offer you the chance to make a positive difference to the lives of others, working within a caring and close-knit team, all while receiving competitive rates of pay and benefits.

About the role

Our support workers:

• Encourage the people we support to participate in their chosen activity or follow their interests.
• Co-ordinate scheduled activities for the people we support, using personalised rotas, liaising with others and ensuring facilitated activities and appointments are attended.

• Implement behaviour management strategies when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Update and maintain accurate records and take the lead in developing care plans.

The daytime role is contracted for 40 hours per week, with the possibility of overtime. Shifts are typically 12 or 14 hours.
