Data Science Analyst for Decision-Support Tools
Lincoln
Lone Star Analysis UK is seeking an Analyst – Data Science to build predictive and prescriptive models and simulations for decision support tools.
Lone Star Analysis is transforming the way leaders make decisions by bringing world-beating data analytics and AI to previously unsolvable problems.
We're looking for an Analyst – Data Science who will work with our clients and subject matter experts to build the predictive and prescriptive models and simulations behind our decision support tools.
If you're passionate about data analytics, mathematics, engineering, or software development and have a degree or relevant experience in these fields, we'd love to hear from you.
Lone Star Analysis UK is a start-up focused on transforming the way leaders make decisions. Bringing world-beating AI techniques to previously unsolvable problems, we are the UK affiliate of Lone Star Aerospace based in the United States. Since 2004, organisations in the US have trusted Lone Star to deliver actionable answers to complex problems in energy, defence, logistics, manufacturing, aerospace, transportation, and more.
We're already working in the UK across healthcare, defence, and sustainability to bring decision support solutions that help customers make smarter decisions faster. We combine predictive and prescriptive analytics, AI, and the experience of our people to enhance innovation, create economic strength, and make the world safer.
The priority for this role is decision support tools development.
What we deliver varies by client. Sometimes it is the answer: analysis, forecasts and recommendations our analysts produce on our platform and deliver as outputs. Sometimes it is the tool: a decision support application built on the platform that the client's own users work with. The platform underpins both, and this role works on both.
Depending on the project, the work leans towards Python data science, building models with the standard scientific libraries, or towards getting those models onto the platform, whether we run them for the client or the client runs them. You will work alongside our analysts and our platform developers.
The skills listed below are relevant to the role but are not all essential. You do not need to meet every criterion to apply, and candidates will be considered based on their overall skills, experience and suitability for the role.
Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics or a similar quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience
We offer flexible hybrid working, with a minimum of one day per week in the office when not working at a client site. Our standard working hours are 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility around these hours where business and project requirements allow.
We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive working environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates and make recruitment decisions based on skills, experience and suitability for the role. We do not discriminate on the basis of protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010.
Information provided as part of your application will be processed in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and our Recruitment Privacy Notice. Your personal information will be used for recruitment and pre-employment screening purposes and will be handled securely and confidentially.
Our Recruitment Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, retain and protect candidate information and your rights in relation to your personal data. It is available on request.
