Maintenance Assistant

The Role Outline: Your Shift at a Glance

As our Maintenance Assistant, you are the ultimate problem solver for the entire property. One hour you might be fixing a critical issue in a guest room so they can have a faultless stay, and the next you will be ensuring our Leisure Club equipment is operating seamlessly. This is one of the most varied, fast paced roles in the hotel, keeping our public areas looking as fresh as they did on day one.

Why Village?

At Village, we do hospitality a little differently. We are all about personality, genuine connections, and creating lively spaces for our guests to work, eat, relax, and play. That is why we back our teams to be themselves, take ownership, learn new skills, and grow their careers.

Previous maintenance experience is great, but your attitude, proactive nature, and energy matter much more to us. If you are handy with a toolbox, love working with people, and enjoy being the person everyone relies on to fix things, we will give you all the support, training, and opportunities you need. Because it really does take a Village.

How the Village Thrives

We live our culture through four simple commitments:

• We Can & We Do: We show up to make a genuine difference and do fantastic work every day, with purpose.
• We Will: Treat each other with respect and dignity. No ego, no drama. We try our best and look out for each other.
• We Care: We care about our impact on guests, the community, and each other.

Your Shift: What You Will Actually Be Doing

We do not just need someone to walk around with a clipboard. We need a proactive, quick thinking operator. We trust you to handle:

• The Guest Experience: Responding directly to room faults. You will jump in and fix issues swiftly and politely, ensuring our guests experience absolutely zero disruption during their stay.
• The Leisure Club: Keeping the energy high. You will run routine checks and fix issues across the gym and pool areas so our facilities are always operating flawlessly for our members.
• The Public Areas: Protecting the brand. You will take pride in the details, ensuring our bustling lobbies, Pub & Grill, and meeting spaces look immaculate and function perfectly.
• The Team Support: Working hand in hand with every other department. You will be a supportive team player who thrives under pressure, helping the wider hotel team deliver a brilliant service.

How We Succeed Together

We do not micromanage. It takes a village, so we believe in Ownership & Integrity, giving you the autonomy to manage your task list, solve practical problems, and own your space. We Empower & Elevate our people. If you want Room to Grow, we provide excellent training and development, including our Rising Stars and Talent Academy programmes.

Selling Our Benefits

• Health & Wellbeing: Complimentary Health and Wellness Membership at your home Club for you and a friend (worth £1,500 a year), up to two mental health days, a discounted Health Cash plan, and an Employee Assistance Programme.
• Hotel Stays: Discounted overnight stays from £35, plus Friends and Family rates from £49 including breakfast.
• Food & Drink: 50% discount on Food and Drink purchased on or off shift at the Pub & Grill, plus 30% off at our Starbucks stores.
• Financial & Extras: Salary drawdown via Wagestream, High Street discounts, an Electric car salary sacrifice scheme, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, and your birthday off guaranteed.
• Development & Culture: Flexible working hours, regular team events, BIG People Days to celebrate our teams, and Anniversary rewards for key milestones.

Think You Have Got the Right Energy?

We are not looking for perfect CVs, we are looking for great people with a bag of personality. If you are a dab hand with a set of tools, possess a passion to learn, and love delivering excellent customer service, we want to hear from you.
