Site Operative / Driver

This temporary Site Operative / Driver – Exeter role with RGB supports clean water repair works throughout Devon, starting as soon as possible.

Based in Exeter, the position runs from 1pm or 2pm until 9pm on a flexible schedule, paying £17.79 per hour via umbrella PAYE.

Duties include driving from the Exeter depot to sites across the county, placing No Parking cones before repairs, setting up and collecting signs, barriers and cones, plus assisting with backfilling.

Regular manual handling and heavy lifting form part of daily tasks.

Candidates need a full UK driving licence and a hands‑on approach. Streetworks training is provided, so prior experience is not essential.

The Role

• Driving from the Exeter base to sites across Devon
• Placing “No Parking” cones ahead of repair works
• Setting up and collecting signs, barriers and cones
• Assisting with backfilling when required
• Supporting safe and efficient site operations
• Regular manual handling and heavy lifting

What We Need

• Full UK driving licence – essential
• Happy driving across Devon
• Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting
• Reliable with a good work ethic
• Comfortable working outdoors
• Previous site, construction, utilities or highways experience beneficial but not essential

No Streetworks ticket - No problem – training will be provided.

A great opportunity to gain Streetworks qualifications while getting hands‑on experience within the utilities sector.
