Netball Coach

Hourly rate: £18-£30 per hour according to skills and experience

Contract: Self-employed, fixed term (1st Jan to 31st March 2027)

The Role

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and qualified Netball Coach to join our successful Sports Department. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality coaching to Senior School pupils, support midweek and Saturday fixtures, and contribute to the continued growth and success of netball at King’s.

Sport is a cornerstone of life at The King’s School, and our netball programme enjoys a strong reputation for both participation and performance. We are proud to continue our partnership with the Birmingham Panthers Super League netball franchise as an U14 Emerging Talent Programme, providing talented athletes with opportunities to train, compete and progress within the performance pathway. This partnership offers regular opportunities to compete against leading local clubs and other Super League franchises, helping our pupils to develop and flourish in a high-performance environment.

While we take great pride in the achievements of our elite sportswomen, we are equally committed to ensuring that every pupil can enjoy, develop and succeed through sport, regardless of experience or ability. The successful candidate will share this philosophy, inspiring pupils to achieve their potential while fostering a positive, inclusive and ambitious sporting culture.

The School

The King’s School is one of the dozen oldest schools in the country and has a proud heritage dating back to at least 1087, with a re-foundation in 1541. King’s is the Cathedral School in the city of Gloucester, whilst the surrounding county is home to many excellent grammar and state schools, as well as other independent schools. King’s is held in high regard amidst this competitive area; our academic, co-curricular and pastoral attainment is second to none. Local media brand SoGlos has awarded King’s the title of ‘Independent School of the Year’ or ‘Highly Commended’ in every one of the last five years – a feat unmatched by any other local independent school – most recently winning the title in May 2025. Despite the multiple national-scale challenges of recent years, King’s has seen its pupil roll growing steadily and parental satisfaction scoring very highly indeed. With careful investment in the campus and facilities, as well as a continuous focus on improving teaching and learning and developing our outstanding pastoral care, King’s is now seen as a dynamic, forward-thinking and impressive place to study and to work.
