Working Charge Hand - Hounslow Heath

Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for keeping fleets running at their best? Do you thrive on guiding teams and ensuring high standards of reliability, safety and performance? If so, we'd love you to join our engineering team as a Working Charge Hand at Hounslow Heath Garage.

What You'll Be Doing

As a key member of our team, you'll:

• Supervise and support our workshop staff during your shift
• Ensure all vehicles meet Company, TfL and VOSA standards
• Make sure enough clean, reliable vehicles are ready for service
• Respond quickly to breakdowns, minimising lost mileage
• Oversee repairs, inspections and documentation such as MOT and rota planners
• Liaise with service controllers, stores and suppliers to keep everything running smoothly
• Monitor quality, cost-effectiveness and timeliness of engineering work
• Champion Health & Safety in the workplace

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Engineer (Apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Must have a PSV driving licence
• Proven supervisory experience – able to lead, motivate and coach
• Previous bus industry experience
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• Solid knowledge of health & safety standards
• Organised, methodical and calm under pressure
• Flexible, self-motivated and a strong team player
• Full UK driving licence
• Can cover shifts 7 on 3 off- 7on 4 off early shift 05:30-14:00, Late shift 13:30 – 22:00
