CEO / Artistic Director
London
We are seeking a new CEO/Artistic Director to help shape the future of Entelechy Arts.
We are seeking a new CEO/Artistic Director to help shape the future of Entelechy Arts. Entelechy Arts is changing our leadership to better reflect the communities we work with. We live in a complex, challenging, and unjust world and we wish to be “led by those who most know these systems” (Aurora Levins Morales(1)). This means that Entelechy Arts wants the people that run the organisation to have direct experience of the challenges our community face.
Since 1989, we have helped people overcome isolation, caused by age, learning and physical disabilities, using creative activity co-designed and co-produced by people who are disabled by society – in part due to their non-conforming bodies and minds – to create their own time and space and counter the worst effects of our neo-liberal world.
Our board is led by people with lived experience and includes people who are members of the communities Entelechy Arts works with. This role will require passion for social justice and advocacy for many of the most marginalised people in our society. If you self-define as d/Deaf or Disabled and have lived experience of the challenges we help people to overcome, then please get in touch to talk more.
This is an opportunity to work with our members, our team, our board and our community of artists to help drive our ambitions forward. We will be flexible around your needs and access requirements and will build a working structure and culture around you, including reshaping the working week.
We welcome applications from single candidates looking to fill the role as a single CEO/AD but we also welcome applications for the role proposing an alternative leadership model. This might include (but not be limited to): a job-share arrangement looking to apply as Co-CEOs; a CEO with a different approach to distributing artistic leadership amongst our community; a model new to us that we can discuss in the interview process.
Prospective candidates will need to have:
Salary: £65,000 per annum (£52,000 pro rata 4 x days per week).
The application process Deadline: Midnight on 8th November 2026
We will adapt to feedback during the recruitment period and before the application deadline, and may make adjustments so that the application and interview process are as accessible to you as possible. (1)
