South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) manages a diverse portfolio of commercial property, transport assets and strategic sites that support the region’s economic growth, public transport network and wider regeneration ambitions.
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Property Manager to play a key role in the management, development and optimisation of our property portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded property professional to help maximise the value and performance of assets while ensuring they continue to meet operational, organisational and community needs.
As Commercial Property Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of SYMCA’s commercial property and transport estate, including commercial premises, transport interchanges and land assets.
Working closely with the Head of Facilities & Asset Management, you will support the delivery of asset management strategies, drive value for money across the portfolio and ensure assets are managed effectively, safely and in line with organisational objectives.
The role includes managing leases and property agreements, overseeing tenant relationships, supporting procurement and contract management activities, maintaining asset information and contributing to strategic property decisions. You will also act as deputy to the Head of Facilities & Asset Management when required.
We are looking for a knowledgeable and commercially focused property professional with experience managing a diverse property portfolio and delivering effective asset management solutions.
You will have a strong understanding of commercial property management, lease arrangements, contract management and procurement processes. You will be comfortable analysing information, identifying risks and opportunities, and making recommendations that support both operational and strategic objectives.
You will be an effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills, capable of working collaboratively with tenants, contractors, professional advisers and internal colleagues. You will also have a proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality outcomes.
Most importantly, you will be committed to ensuring SYMCA's assets are managed efficiently, sustainably and in a way that delivers maximum benefit for the organisation and the communities it serves.
All colleagues have access to a Local Government Pension Scheme and the chance to be part of an organisation where you can really make a difference. Located in Sheffield City Centre, we are well-placed for transport links and encourage employees to take advantage of the active travel facilities. Work/life balance is extremely important to us here at SYMCA with our recognised family/friendly policies, genuine work flexibility, recognition, and shared success.
Our workforce is made up of a diverse community, where we all belong and feel part of something bigger. We are committed to equality of opportunity and welcome applications from individuals, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio‑economic background, religion and/or belief.
All employees are eligible to request Flexible Working arrangements from day one of employment as such all requests will be considered subject to operation requirements.
Where candidates share disabilities within the application process, if they demonstrate that they meet all essential criteria from the Role Profile within their application, they will automatically be invited to interview.
If you require any reasonable adjustments throughout the process, please contact or include within your application form detailing the adjustment and how it will assist in managing any barriers.
